Abstract

Elementary school children generally have the desire to improve their English language skills by learning through vocabulary, singing, etc. The Community Service Institute (LP2M) Santo Thomas Catholic University, North Sumatra acts as a partner in implementing this program. One part of the Tri Darma of Higher Education is community service, which includes teaching, research and useful programs. Teaching English is considered important because English is one of the foreign language subjects that must be mastered in today's global world. English is included in the language of instruction most commonly used by the public, however for elementary school (SD) children, especially those aged 6-12 years, it is very permissible to use methods that attract their attention. The method that researchers use in this community service is the observation method. Observation is a technique that can be carried out accompanied by recording the condition or behavior of the target object.
