Enhancing English Proficiency of Children at Talenta Delpita Orphanage through an Interactive Method-Based Free Tutoring Program

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve the English language competence of children at the Talenta Delpita Orphanage through a free tutoring program based on interactive methods. The interactive method was chosen because it is believed to create a fun and engaging learning atmosphere while effectively achieving learning objectives. The methods used include educational games, storytelling, group discussions, and direct communication practice through role-playing. This program was carried out over a period of three months with regular meetings held twice a week. Evaluation results showed that the interactive approach significantly improved the participants’ vocabulary, conversational skills, as well as their confidence and motivation to learn. Prior to the implementation of the program, the participants’ average score on the initial competency test was 45, which increased to 78 after the program. In addition, participants expressed positive responses, stating that they felt more motivated and comfortable during the learning sessions.
