Peer Review Process for the Journal on Education and Pedagogy (JEP)
The peer review process for the Journal on Education and Pedagogy (JEP) is designed to ensure the scholarly rigor, relevance, and integrity of the articles published in the journal. Here is an outline of the peer review process:
Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts electronically through the journal's online submission system. Upon submission, authors are required to adhere to the journal's formatting and submission guidelines.
Editorial Assessment: Upon receipt, the editor-in-chief or assigned associate editor conducts an initial assessment of the manuscript's suitability for publication in JEP. This assessment includes evaluating the manuscript's alignment with the journal's scope, originality, clarity, and adherence to ethical guidelines.
Assignment of Reviewers: If the manuscript passes the initial assessment, the editor-in-chief or associate editor selects knowledgeable reviewers with expertise in the relevant field of education and pedagogy. Reviewers are chosen based on their academic credentials, research experience, and absence of conflicts of interest with the authors.
Blind Review Process: Reviewers receive anonymized versions of the manuscript, with all identifying information removed to ensure a double-blind review process. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on its scholarly merit, originality, theoretical and methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field.
Peer Review Evaluation: Reviewers provide detailed feedback and constructive criticism to the editor-in-chief or associate editor, highlighting the manuscript's strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Reviewers may recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript based on their evaluation.
Editorial Decision: The editor-in-chief or associate editor considers the reviewers' feedback and recommendations to make an informed editorial decision. Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the editor-in-chief may accept the manuscript, request revisions, or reject it. The decision is communicated to the authors along with reviewers' comments.
Revision and Resubmission: If revisions are requested, authors are given the opportunity to address the reviewers' comments and revise their manuscript accordingly. Authors are encouraged to provide a detailed response to each reviewer's comment and indicate the changes made in the revised manuscript.
Final Decision: Upon resubmission, the revised manuscript undergoes another round of review to ensure that the reviewers' concerns have been adequately addressed. The editor-in-chief makes a final decision regarding acceptance for publication based on the revised manuscript and reviewers' feedback.
Publication: If accepted, the manuscript proceeds to the production stage for formatting, proofreading, and publication in the next available issue of JEP. Authors are notified of the publication date and provided with a final version of their article.
